Your teenager may come into contact with drugs for the first time during high school. They may encounter drugs at a party and may be tempted to try them out of curiosity, or to join in with their friends, or to feel better. The good news is that Aussie teenagers today are less likely to use drugs than used to be the case. In fact, your generation may be far more likely to have used drugs than your kids and their friends. In 2016, 22 percent of Australian teenagers said they’d tried an illegal drug, compared to 37 percent of teens in 2001.
